This was an interesting shopping experience, located on Dover street itself Dover street Market
the store is large and its front featured very large display windows with the black and white Dover street market Logo. Inside the floor was like pavement with old chewing gum marks and a grainy look. There was exposed piping through the ceiling boards above and at one section a golden chandelier was suspended from an open ceiling square and draped in red string.Near the back there was a Large rough metal shack with a Sales Person inside, this was the floors point of sale and an interesting one at that.Sales assistants wore suits or a piece from the Commes des Garcons line. Further towards the back was a black vending machine which contained Commes des Garcons t-shirts for £25, the machine acted the same as every other vending machine only this one was for t-shirts.The space was very big and there was so much to see which got me tired of walking around. I went up two levels in the lift and came to a smaller floor with concessions, there was a Celine concession that stood out to me as it was like a shop within Dover street market. It was slightly cubicle like with silver walls and plinths. These plinths had boots and accessories on top of them. On the left side of this section was a long black rail with a large amount of Celine clothing. There was a beautifully made navy blue woollen skirt with leather pockets and a beige lace dress. The skirt was thick and well made and the dress was not a flimsy lace and had good finishings.
I went another floor up and came to a sort of homeware section
There were Ornaments, rugs, mugs, cups, pots and pans, toiletries and more. Throughout the store were tall wood framed glass cabinets and on this floor the cabinets contained shells and coral, and also a swans skull. around the corner from here was a Cafe which had a long wooden table with wooden stools. The flooring was slate grey, smooth tiles. The staff here were wearing Junya Watanabe and walked around attending to displays.
Dover street market was like a department store but then it wasn't, it was more conceptual. Everything was very neat and there were elements of surprise with the Large Shack and Vending Machines.
Overall I found this store very interesting and I would come back not to shop but to see what they come up with next.
