Hippies


Being a hippie is a matter of accepting a universal belief system that transcends the social moral of any established structure, they approach life with peace, love, freedom and respect for others.
Hippies  association  was in united states , it originally began as a youth movement in the early 1960’s and rapidly grew to an established social group by 1965. It was the time for standing up for your beliefs, mind exploration and sexual revolution. It was a step outside the social norms. Hippies left there mark on religious and cultural diversity, peace and love were considered paramount.
Rock music with eastern influence (the Beatles), soulful funk like sly & the family stone. The Beatles: all i need is you ,was broad casted live world wide and in hippie style in new York 1968.
 
Drugs
Following in the footsteps of the beats, hippies used drugs like cannabis considering it pleasurable and benign. They  enlarged thier spirtual pharmacopeia to include hallucinogens such as lsd, psilocybin and mescaline while renouncing the use of alcohol.
Harvard universtiy professors Timothy Leary advocated psychotropic druks for psychotherapy, self-exploration, religious and spiritual use. Leary said, “Expand your consciousness ans find ecstasy and revelation within.”
